1. With or without skipper?
The first choice to make concerns the presence of the skipper on board:
• With skipper: ideal if you do not have a nautical license or if you want to enjoy the holiday without worries. The skipper is responsible for navigation, safety and knows the best routes.
• Without skipper (bareboat): a valid boating license and good experience at sea are required. You will have full freedom but also the responsibility of the boat.
2. When to book?
The best time to sail in Italy is from May to October.
• High season: July and August (hotter and more crowded)
• Mid-season: June and September (good weather, less tourists)
• Low season: May and October (cheaper)
Book in advance for more choice and better rates.
3. How do you choose the right boat?
Here are the main factors to consider:
• Number of cabins and berths: boats have double cabins and sometimes extra beds in the lounge
• Length and comfort: from 10 to 15 meters is ideal for 4-8 people
• Year of construction and equipment
• Budget: the price varies according to season, type of boat
Our team can help you find the boat that best suits your needs.
4. What does the rental include?
The basic rental includes:
• Exclusive use of the boat
• Tender
• Mooring at the port of departure
• Final cleaning
• Sheets
• Technical assistance in case of problems
Extras to consider:
• Skipper (if required)
• Outboard motor
• Towels (on monohulls)
• Galley (food and drink expenses)
• Fuel
• Any ports and moorings for a fee
• Sup and Seabob
5. What to bring on the boat?
• Light and comfortable clothing
• Swimsuit, sunglasses, hat
• Shoes with white sole
• Wind jacket or lightweight waxed
• Sun cream and insect repellent
• Soft backpack (no hard bags)
6. Check-in, briefing and departure
• Check-in: at the base port, on Saturday afternoon
• Briefing: the owner or skipper explains the rules of the boat, safety and use of equipment
• Itinerary: if you have a skipper, you will discuss the route together according to the weather and your wishes
7. Deposit and insurance
Before departure, a deposit (by credit card) is required to cover any damage.
You can also choose an additional insurance policy to reduce the economic risk in case of unforeseen events or opt to buy a reduced deposit.
8. End of trip and check-out
At the end of the holiday:
• Return to base port (on Friday evening)
• Check-out and control of the boat by the owner
• Return deposit, if everything is in order
